Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir Grewal said Saturday he will follow through on a program to bring recovering heroin addicts to hospitals to counsel overdose victims — a potential strategy to stop them from using again immediately after being rescued with the Narcan antidote.

Stephanie Reifman, a sophomore at Northern Highlands Regional High School where Saturday’s panel discussion took place, created a program which brings recovering addicts to talk about their addiction and parents who lost children to overdoses into schools. She has already appeared at middle schools in Ridgewood, Franklin Lakes, high schools in Glen Rock Emerson and Emerson as well as Bergen Community College…
